SPFAC negotiates and accepts all awards on behalf of the PI and the campus. SPFAC works in conjunction with other offices to ensure that faculty, staff, and students are not adversely affected by the agreement terms.
The agreement terms specify the amount of the award, the start and end dates of the grant, any reporting requirements, and deliverables expected at the end of the grant period, and will outline any other requirements the sponsor may have.
SPFAC is responsible for processing all award documents. All documents require University approval and many documents require signature by the official institutional representative authorized to sign on behalf of the institution. At UL Lafayette, this is the Provost (as designated by the University President).
Upon receipt of the fully executed award documents or other proof of award, SPFAC will set up a fund in Banner and notify the PI of the Banner information.
