About Us

Welcome to Sponsored Programs Finance Administration and Compliance. It is our intent that these pages serve as a source of information for the University’s research community. 

The office of Sponsored Programs Finance Administration and Compliance (SPFAC) is a post award office that reports to the Vice President for Administration and Finance. Our goal is to provide research faculty and staff with professional and quality customer support and service in post award management of sponsored programs, while ensuring compliance with federal, state and University regulations. We also work closely with the Vice President for Research and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to ensure a smooth transition from pre award to post award activities.

The office of Sponsored Programs Finance Administration and Compliance major responsibilities include:

  •     Negotiate award terms on behalf of the University
  •     Ensure compliance according to the terms of a contract
  •     Account set up
  •     Contract amendments and extensions
  •     Budget revisions
  •     Subcontract negotiation
  •     Subcontract monitoring
  •     Invoicing
  •     Financial reporting
  •     Accounts receivable management
  •     Effort reporting
  •     Project close out
  •     Research statistics and reports
